COLORS OF CANCER
Jul 18, 2019 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm
Niles District Library, 620 E. Main Street, Niles, MI 49120
We are inviting everyone to join us at the Niles District Library for the Colors of Cancer: A Community Weaving Project. This is your opportunity to weave with a loom! You will choose the colors of yarn to represent how cancer has impacted your life and the lives of those close to you. A helper will assist you with weaving the yarn on the loom. The cloth will be 15 inches wide and as long as the community makes it. We will be starting on July 15 and ending on August 31 during Niles District Library open hours.
VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED TO LEARN TO BE LOOM ASSISTANTS AND YARN DONATIONS ARE NEEDED. Please follow this link for more information and to sign up for training - VOLUNTEER
There will be a special OPEN HOUSE to bring awareness to this community project on Thursday, July 18 from 2-4 p.m. Please join us for refreshments and weaving as well as enjoying the BCCS art display. You may come to the Niles District Library to participate in the weaving project any time from July 15 - August 24.
Also on display is art work from the Berrien County Cancer Service Art Play Workshops. These workshops are a unique support group where local artists and children impacted by cancer come together to use art as an expression of feelings.
All are welcome to participate and bring a friend!
